The Formula E adventure is about to begin for Mercedes-Benz. The new Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01 is now ready for its first season in the electric racing series.
The Formula E racing cars bearing the three-pointed star logo will be driven by Belgian Stoffel Vandoorne (27 years old) and Dutch Nyck de Vries (24 years old). The team will be managed by team principal Ian James.
The electric car measures 5,160 mm in length, 1,055 mm in height and features a wheelbase of 3,100 mm. The driver sits at 75 mm maximum from the ground. It comes with a front track of 1,553 mm and rear track of 1,505 mm, while the maximum width of the car is of 1,770 mm.
The battery with a capacity of of 54 kWh charges in 45 minutes and it weighs 385 kilograms. The entire car is only 900 kilograms.
Its electric motor develops a maximum power of 200 kW (272 horsepower), reaching up to 235 kW (319 horsepower) in Attack Mode. The vehicle runs from a standstill to 100 km/h in approximately 2.8 seconds. It is set to show its abilities in the 14 races of the season in 12 cities across four continents.
