On the occasion of the world premiere of the new Mercedes GLC EV, Mercedes CEO Ola Källenius confirmed many future Mercedes models.

It was a night of revelations at Mercedes. At the world premiere of the Mercedes GLC EV ahead of the Munich Auto Show, Mercedes CEO Ola Källenius confirmed many upcoming Mercedes models.

Here are some certainties brought by the Mercedes CEO:

  1. Mercedes-AMG GT XX will go into series production in a form almost unchanged from the concept that set a world record by covering over 40,000 km in 8 days. With three revolutionary axial-flow motors and 1000 kW of power, the Mercedes-AMG GT XX will be the electric equivalent of the AMG GT 4-door coupe and one of the most fascinating electric cars of all time.

  2. The Mercedes G-Class family will expand with a mini G-Class and a G-Class Cabrio. Mercedes showed a slide on screen during the presentation, which we also share at the beginning of this article.

  3. The Mercedes C-Class EV will debut in 2026 on the same platform as the GLC EV and will have a range of over 800 km.

  4. The new generation Mercedes GLA will also debut in 2026 and will come in mild hybrid and electric versions, like the CLA and CLA Shooting Brake.

  5. The Mercedes A-Class will remain in production for a few more years, with Källenius making it clear that Mercedes’ most compact model will continue to serve as the entry-level model in the lineup.

  6. Mercedes has invested over 2 billion euros in upgrading its plants in Bremen (where the new GLC EV is produced) and Kecskemét (where the new compact class models are built).

  7. Very briefly, Källenius hinted that Mercedes will continue to build V8-powered models.

  8. Källenius also announced the future generation Mercedes E-Class EV without specifying that it will replace the current EQE, though this seems very logical.

  9. In 2026, the new Mercedes VLE electric van will also debut.
