The skiers versus the AMGs. It’s not a war, but a race. One of force and speed. Come with us down the slope in New Zealand to find out exactly who’s in the competition and who’s winning.

Best professional skiers and snowboarders teamed up against the AMGs that intruded on their snowdome, at the Snow Farm in Cardrona, on New Zealand’s south island. Filmed by professional automotive photographer Chris Benny, the video turns out to be eye-catching and breath-taking.

AMGs in the Snowdome

Four amazing cars star in the short snowy movie: the C 63 AMG “Edition 507” Coupe, the G 63 AMG, the SL 63 AMG and the E 63 AMG. Behind the wheel, there are some of the best drivers from the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy. They raced against the professional freestyle skiers Beau-James Wells and Byron Well and professional snowboarders Stef Zeestraten and Mitch Brown, all members of the Cardrona NZ Park & Pipe Team.

Even though it seems hazardous, all activities of the AMGs in the snowdome took place on a closed controlled course. We are not even going to mention the winners. You have to play the video by yourself to find that out. But before you do that, you might want to check the technical details of the engined “characters” starring in the short motion picture, right below the video.

These are the cars that went head to head with the snow professionals and made the music even more beautiful than it already was, with their roaring AMG engines:

  • Mercedes C 63 AMG ‘”Edition 507″ Coupé: Fuel consumption combined: 12.0 l/100 km;
  • Mercedes G 63 AMG: Fuel consumption combined: 13.8 l/100 km;
  • Mercedes SL 63 AMG: Fuel consumption combined: 9.9 l/100 km;
  • Mercedes E 63 AMG S-Model: Fuel consumption combined: 10.3 l/100 km;

We’d dare to give them an idea for another movie of the AMGs in the snowdome! Next time, they should also try a race against the snow dogs. The Snow Farm in New Zealand offers dog sled facilities.
