Far less popular than its fancier brother, the 300 SL, this Mercedes-Benz beauty still has a lot to offer and the following video is just about that: great design, appealing shapes and a lot of history.
The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL is an old favorite of ours, a car we really like and therefore included on our list of the most beautiful Mercedes-Benz models ever built.
This two-door roadster was produced by Mercedes-Benz between 1955 and 1963 but for some reason, it was only seen as a much cheaper alternative to the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing. Quite unfair, as it was and still is, without doubt, a beautiful car.
It is also worth mentioning that at that time, a brand new 190 SL would cost as much as half a detached house. Anyway, this 1957 190 SL was built for the United States and the cabriolet spent its first years there, before being transferred to Switzerland.
In 2007, the model entered a long restoration process which needed more than 300 hours in order to be fully completed. The final result is beautifully presented in the video below:
