Mercedes has launched a new version of the electric C-Class: the Mercedes C 300 4Matic costs €62,951, almost €5,000 less than the C 400 4Matic, and features two motors producing a combined 421 PS/800 Nm and an 85 kWh net battery.

Mercedes is expanding the electric C-Class range with a new version. Initially launched with the range-topping C 400 4Matic, just like the electric GLC, the Mercedes C-Class Electric is now available in a less powerful version, but still with two motors, developing 421 PS instead of 489 PS in the C 400 4Matic and equipped with a smaller battery, with 85 kWh net compared with 94 kWh net.

Interestingly, the motors produce less power, but the maximum torque of 800 Nm is identical in both models.

The battery, which is 9 kWh smaller, does not significantly reduce the WLTP range, as the C 300 4Matic promises a decent WLTP range of between 549 and 690 km, compared with 594–762 km for the C 400 4Matic.

With 68 PS less power and a battery that is 9 kWh smaller, the Mercedes C 300 4Matic costs €62,951, almost €5,000 less than the electric C 400 4Matic. The C 300 4Matic is also €5,500 cheaper than the GLC 300 4Matic SUV, which has the same power output and battery capacity.

Like the C 400 4Matic, the C 300 4Matic can be configured with AMG Line (€3,451) or AMG Line Plus (€7,556.50), while Airmatic air suspension and rear-axle steering cost €2,844.10 as part of the Agility & Comfort package.

Charging at 22 kW AC stations (11 kW as standard) costs an additional €654.50, while compatibility with older 400V DC charging stations costs another €654.50.

The full-width Hyperscreen display, which stretches across the entire dashboard, costs an extra €1,487.50, but it can only be ordered together with the Advanced Plus with Digital Extras package, which adds another €3,570 to the final price.

Digital headlights with Dynamic Ultra Range high beam cost an additional €1,392.30, meaning that the price of a well-equipped version can rise to around €80,000–€85,000.
