Here is the new Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, world’s most powerful series production model that the company has ever built.

The new Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series comes with the 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine in its most powerful output variant ever. 730 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. These are details that provide the supercar with exhilarating figures. It takes 3.2 seconds to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h and under 9 seconds to reach 200 km/h. Its top speed is 325 km/h.

The seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G dual clutch transmission, specifically adjusted for more torque, transfers the 800 Nm to rear axle.

The model comes with a Race Start function, a highlight of the GT family. It also borrows various elements from the AMG GT3 and AMG GT4 racing cars in terms of aerodynamics. A massive radiator air inlet with vertical struts, wheel arch coolers fed with air directly via the central inlet and sickle-shaped flics are on the list. There is, of course, a carbon-fiber front splitter with two manually adjustable settings, Street and Race.

Two large exhaust openings in the bonnet evacuate hot air from the engine compartment. A new rear apron, a large diffuser and two round twin tailpipes characterize the rear end. But the two-blade carbon fiber aerofoil gets all the attention, as seen in the official teaser video. The upper blade features a movable flap electronically adjusted by 20 degrees, according to the selected AMG DYNAMIC mode (Basic, Advanced, Pro and Master) for improved dynamics. The flap stays in an inclined and extended position up to 250 km/h. It retracts above this speed, only to extend when the driver brakes suddenly or steers.

The new Mercedes-AMG GT R Black Series gets a standard ceramic high-performance compound brake system with black brake calipers and white AMG lettering.

There are 19-inch wheels at the front and 20-inch wheels at the rear, shod with Pilot Sport Cup 2 R MO1A tires, that Mercedes-AMG and Michelin especially developed for the model.

Freedom onboard the new Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series

The driver has the freedom to adjust the adaptive damping by choosing Comfort, Sport or Sport Plus. He can also disengage the ESP, while the AMG TRACTION CONTROL enables him to choose one of the 9 levels available, for more or less slip on the rear wheels. Therefore, level 1 is for driving in the wet, while level 9 provides maximum slip on the rear axle.

Mercedes-AMG GT R Black Series (6)

The Mercedes-AMG GT R Black Series gets Exclusive nappa leather and Dinamica microfiber in black and orange contrasting topstitching. The driver gets the AMG Performance steering wheel with aluminium shift paddles. There are the 12.3-inch digital instrument display and the 10.25-inch touchscreen onboard. The one behind the wheel will be able to choose Classic, Sporty or Supersport as display styles.

The future owner of the most powerful series Mercedes can tick the AMG Track Package when ordering the car. It will bring the AMG carbon-fiber buckets seats (not for USA, Canada and China) with 4-point seat belts and roll cage.
