367 HP pumping out of a 3.0-liter V6 biturbo heart. These are the figures of the new Mercedes-AMG C 43 Coupé, the sporty member of the C-Class family, gifted with a 9G-Tronic transmission. With Mercedes rebranding the company’s current AMG Sport models, the latest Affalterbach baby promises an exhilarating driving experience.

With AMG genes that flow into the GTs and ‘63’ models as well, the Mercedes-AMG C 43 Coupé brings the racetrack sensation at drivers’ fingertips.

With a maximum power of 367 HP (270 kW) and a peak torque of 520 Nm, sprinting from a standstill to 100 km/h only takes 4.7 seconds on the car’s way to an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. The Mercedes-AMG C 43 Coupé boasts the 4MATIC all-wheel drive with rear-biased torque distribution of 31 to 69 percent (from front to rear axle) and an AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with adaptive variable damping in three stages.

The AMG DYNAMIC SELECT switch will comply with the driver’s mood, in five separate modes.

Mercedes-AMG C 43 Coupé, (A 205), 2016The C 43 gets the entire package of AMG styling, together with an instrument cluster with chequered flag design with 280 km/h cale and AMG menu on the inside. On the outside, there are the already famous diamond radiator grille with chrome plated pins and a single louvre in high-gloss black and AMG distinctive front and rear apron as well as special exhaust tailpipes. The 18’-inch AMG light-alloy wheels in a 5-spoke design are also part of the package.

Biturbo heart

The 3.0-liter V6 biturbo engine features the NANOSLIDE® technology, also used in the Formula 1 engines of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS squad. The 367 HP output and the 520 Nm peak torque bring the sensation of a vehicle made for the racetrack.

“Sports car technology and motor racing flair thus become more attainable and appeal to a broader customer base”, says Mercedes‑AMG GmbH chairman, Tobias Moers.

The AMG engineers worked to reduce shift times and to provide better efficiency with the new 9G-Tronic transmission. Go into the “Sport” or “Sport Plus” transmission modes and the driving experience is upgraded to a whole new level. The “Manual” mode can be activated by the push of a button in the center console.

Sporty behaviour from head to… suspension

Sporty, yet comfortable. That’s the principle the Affalterbach engineers followed to make occupants cozy on long distance journeys. Therefore, the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC Coupé has been standardly equipped with the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension for extra agility and boosted dynamics. In addition, the driver benefits from reduced body roll, higher lateral acceleration, better traction, and strong neutral handling at the limit.

For a fully customized driving experience, the driver can select the automatic adjustable damping system’s three suspension modes “Comfort”, “Sport” and “Sport Plus”.

A tap of a finger, that’s all it takes for the driver to set his vehicle into the “Eco”, “Comfort”, “Sport”, “Sport Plus” or “Individual” mode, to go all the way from plushy comfort to mad sporty by adjusting the response of the engine, transmission, suspension set-up and steering.

The svelte muscle car – Exterior design

The Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC Coupé comes with a sporty aggressive appearance that makes it distinguishable as an AMG family member. Its distinctive styling comprises a front apron with sporty wide air intakes, a silver chrome trim in the diamond radiator grille with chrome-plated pins, a louvre in high-gloss black and the AMG lettering. At the rear, the car features an apron with matt iridium silver diffuser insert.

The “BITURBO – 4MATIC” lettering on the front wing and the “AMG” on the left and “C 43” on the right side of the boot lid round up the exterior design.

The car rolls on 18-inch light alloy wheels with a 5-spoke layout. 19-inch light alloy wheels in various designs are optionally available.

Step inside – the interior design

A multifunctional steering wheel in black leather with a flattened bottom section and red contrasting topstitching gives that feeling that you’ve got the world in your hands. And that world is controlled by you from a sports seat with improved lateral support, upholstered in ARTICO hand-made leather / DINAMICA microfiber. The man-made leather also wraps the armrests, the door center panels and the center console. Designo red safety belts and black floor mats with red edging amplify that sporty feeling.

The AMG instrument cluster provides all relevant data in a clearly arranged layout matching the dynamic driving style. Two tube-shaped round dials, 11.4 cm (4.5-inch) multifunction colour display, RACETIMER and 280 km/h scale in chequered-flag design give that Play Station sensation.
