Daimler published full pricing details for its new flagship models Mercedes-Maybach S500 and Mercedes-Maybach S600, which have been made available to order with immediate effect.
After just a few weeks from its official introduction at the Los Angeles and Guangzhou motor show, the Mercedes-Maybach reveals its starting prices for both the S500 and the S600 version.
Therefore, the Mercedes-Maybach S500 has a starting price of 134,053 euro, while for the the more powerful S600 version, clients will have to pay at least 187,841 euro.
In addition, Daimler will offer the S500 4MATIC later next year, accompanied by the cheaper Mercedes-Maybach S400 4MATIC.
As a refresher, the S500 has a bi-turbo V8 4.7-liter sending 455 hp and 700 Nm of torque to the wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission which will also be found in the 4MATIC version.
The range-topper S600 makes use of a larger V12 twin-turbo 6.0-liter with 530 hp and 830 Nm channeled to the wheels via a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
According to Daimler officials, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is specifically designed to be chauffeur-driven. For the driver and any front passenger, there have been no compromises compared with a “normal” S-Class.
However, the real sense of spaciousness is to be found in the rear. The wheelbase of the saloon, the quietest in the world for rear-seat passengers, has been extended by 200 mm, the full extent of which benefits those sitting in the back. The roof line also means that there is more headroom.
Deliveries are set to kick off on February 7 2015 while the S400 4MATIC will make its debut in April 2015.
