Ahead of its world premiere on September 7, Mercedes has unveiled the first official photo of the dashboard of the new Mercedes GLC EV.

The Mercedes GLC EV, officially named Mercedes GLC with EV Technology, will debut on September 7 at the Munich Auto Show. As a preview, Mercedes presents the first official photo of its dashboard.

Conceptually, the dashboard is inspired by the new Mercedes CLA. It features a wide display that stretches across the entire width of the dashboard. With a diagonal of 99.3 cm (39.1 inches), it is the largest display ever installed in a Mercedes.

It boasts exceptional clarity and vivid colors thanks to its high resolution and matrix backlighting technology with over 100 individual LEDs. It also features an intelligent zoned dimming function that allows simultaneous brightness adjustment in two display areas using sliders—an invention patented by Mercedes. This ensures important information is always clear and accessible, reducing distractions and increasing comfort.

The new full-width display incorporates the digital instrument cluster, which uses familiar graphics from other Mercedes models. It includes the central display and the passenger display. The round, galvanized side air vents are integrated into the display and individually illuminated. The central rectangular air vents are also illuminated and positioned below the display. The center console blends seamlessly with the transmission tunnel. At its base are two wireless charging pads for mobile phones (optional) and a row of physical buttons. The display also integrates smoothly with the door panels, following their concave curvature with a rounded shape.

In addition, the new Mercedes GLC EV offers various ambient modes, from calm to intense, cool to warm, and technical to emotional. The coloring of the instrument cluster, control elements, and ambient lighting is synchronized with these mood themes.

The steering wheel largely follows the design of other Mercedes models, with two double spokes on the sides, but the controls on the upper spokes are new. Instead of the touch-sensitive surface that was often criticized in tests with various Mercedes models, there are now two rotary knobs that are certainly more practical. On the lower spokes, the controls have been reorganized: on the right side there is a small multifunctional touch button, while the left side is dedicated to adaptive cruise control functions.
