Mercedes has revealed the interior of the new Mercedes‑AMG GT 4‑Door Coupe, which is dominated by three displays. Completely new are the three buttons used to adjust the drivetrain, located on the center tunnel.

Mercedes continues the current trend of dashboards dominated by displays, and the new AMG GT 4-Door Coupe features two standard displays and one optional display for the passenger.

However, the way the displays are arranged differs from the new Mercedes‑Benz CLA EQ and Mercedes‑Benz GLC EQ models. The 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and the 14-inch multimedia system display form a single unit, but the multimedia display is oriented toward the driver, a nod to the sports models of the 1980s and 1990s.

The optional 14-inch display for the front passenger forms a separate unit and is positioned on a different plane from the multimedia system display.

Mercedes states that the multimedia system uses the new MB.OS operating system but does not provide further details. This suggests that MB.OS may use Google services, similar to those in the CLA EQ and GLC EQ.

The digital instrument cluster can be configured in several AMG-specific ways. The AMG Special style offers four different layouts. The “AMG Track Pace” display style shows telemetry data, acceleration values, or race data depending on the situation. The selection is complemented by the timeless “Classic” style with various submenus such as current consumption or the navigation map.

However, the most important element of the new interior is what Mercedes-AMG calls AMG Race Engineer. This groups three rotary switches on the center tunnel, placed one behind the other as follows:

  • Response Control – modifies the response of the electric motors when the accelerator pedal is pressed

  • Agility Control – adjusts the car’s agility along the vertical axis and therefore its behavior in corners

  • Traction Control – varies the intervention of the traction control system across nine levels

In front of the three AMG Race Engineer switches are two well-protected compartments for wireless phone charging, and to their right are two illuminated cup holders.

The central air vents are placed below the multimedia display, while the galvanized side vents—combining a solid metal look with a sophisticated high-tech aesthetic—are round and integrated into the glass surface of the displays. They are also illuminated, and the light color can be adjusted to match the ambient lighting.

The AMG Performance steering wheel is flattened at the bottom and brings an important novelty. Instead of four touch-sensitive surfaces on the two double spokes, now only the lower spokes retain touch controls for adaptive cruise control and the phone. On the upper right spoke there is now a rotary button for audio volume, while on the upper left spoke there is a switch. As with other AMG models, at the base of the steering wheel, on the left and right, there are two rotary switches. The one on the lower right is dedicated to the driving modes, while the one on the lower left adjusts the suspension stiffness.

In addition to the standard seats, Mercedes offers AMG Performance seats with integrated headrests. Two openings in the backrest with galvanized inserts emphasize maximum sportiness in the performance seat and highlight its lightweight construction.

Mercedes emphasizes in its press release that the driving position is very low, similar to that of the two-door Mercedes‑AMG GT coupe. Mercedes has not revealed details about the battery, but it is known that the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe—like all future AMG electric models built on the dedicated AMG.EA platform—will have a new battery with cylindrical cells mounted directly in the battery housing, unlike the prismatic cells grouped into modules used in the MB.EA platform. The new battery is extremely thin, which allowed the seats to be mounted very low.

Mercedes also published an image of the rear seats. The rear bench comes standard with two individual seats, while a more practical three-seat bench is available as an option. In both cases, the rear backrest can be folded in split sections.

The Sky Control panoramic roof is effectively divided into two sections and can be switched between transparent and non-transparent independently for each segment. At night, the roof can be transformed into a sparkling display with a unique lighting effect: illuminated AMG emblems above the driver and front passenger’s heads and motorsport-inspired racing stripes across the entire roof surface glow in colors that match the vehicle’s ambient lighting.
