The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class is inching closer to its debut scheduled for later this year. The business sedan has been caught testing in Scandinavia. For the first time, the all-new headlights can be noticed.

The car is going to hit the showrooms towards the end of the year, but until that moment comes, the sedan is testing in extreme winter conditions in northern Europe. The current model is on the market since January 2017, when it was revealed at the Detroit Motor Show.

The prototype caught by the spy photographers also shows the rear lights in what seems to be their final shape, one that is very similar to the current one. The previous spy photos have only shown the lights covered in camouflage.

The car is going through a major transformation in terms of both design and technology. The looks of the automobile are going to align it with the other new models of the three-pointed star company, thus getting the LEDs at the front flanking a newly outlined radiator grill.

In terms of propulsion, the future E is expected to get electrified again. A photo of the interior shows that the MBUX system based on artificial intelligence, that made its debut with the A-Class, will also find room onboard the mid-sized sedan. The widescreen fitted in the E is set to keep its ground.
