Put your sunshades on, because what you’re about to see might cause irreversible damage to your eyes. An aftermarket company in Poland thought of covering the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster in gold. And not only did they conceive it, but also did it!
And that’s not all. The Polish company Aplikatorzy let the golden fireball run free through the city. The over 3-minute video shows exactly how they… damaged the car.
During the procedure, a tiny Yorkshire Terrier probably tried to defend it by positioning itself instead of the radiator grille. Speaking of which, it turned completely black, with the three-pointed star logo and the single louver also blacked out.
People stared at the extravagant exotic SLS in traffic as it cruised radiating sun beams along the streets. The 6.3-liter V8 engine of the luxury 2-seater is still intact, so it can still vanish instantly, running from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds.
It is not the first the Polish do something like that to an SLS. The roadster has also been dropped in a black chrome bubble bath, but that surely was not as eye-damaging as the golden one.
Luckily, it’s not paint, it’s just a wrap, put on inch by inch with extreme care and attention. So we can only hope that one day it will return to its fabulous looks again.
