300 km/h. 3.9 seconds for the 0-100 km/h run. 450 HP. Neah, not a jet, but an A 45 AMG, so step out of its way. Renntech made the baby Mercedes run like mad, upgrading its looks, its engine and of course, its price!
The German tunner, that has its headquarters right next to the Nurburgring racetrack, did some work on the A 45 AMG’s 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine to put on some extra power. Instead of running the 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.6 seconds, it can do it now by 0.7 seconds faster, so blink and you missed it.
It’s 300 km/h (186 mph) for the bright white A, that used to be blocked down at 250 km/h (155 mph). And the upgrading costs roughly some 5000 euros ($5500).
If you have more money to spend, you’ll get some brand-new brakes, too, and naturally, they don’t come cheap, since they have to stop this baby monster from the 300 km/h. Pagid brake pads, Bilsten coilovers, all dressed to impress in the „Fast Road B16’” package. It’s 3 410 euros ($3,800), thank-you for the extra expenditure.
And maybe, since this car is already making waves, you want the whole neighborhood to go deaf? A 2 640 euro (almost $3000) exhaust system and catalyc convertor can guarantee that.
The people in Autocar claim the Renntech creation is not as monstrous in practice as it appears after going through all these figures. But the price surely is. Speaking of hot hatches, the A 45 AMG that came out of the hands of the Renntech experts goes up to a burning hot price of 63 000 euros ($70 000).
So now you decide if you can spare some money for it. Keep in mind! With all these changes, the warranty is long gone! And you can get a similar sensation in the standard A or even in its rivals like the Golf R, the Audi RS3 or the BMW M135i! So where does this place this crazy baby monster? In someonele’s garage, maybe?
