Up seems to be the only way from Mercedes-Benz in 2016 as well! Mercedes-Benz USA has reported a new record sales figure for February. The American branch sold a total of 25,632 in the past month.

22,941 passenger cars, 2,269 vans and 422 smart units. This is the aftermath of February in the United States, with Daimler Vans recording a best-ever February, marking an increase of 35.5% compared to the previous year.

“Despite runout of two high-volume models, we are experiencing a strong first quarter,” said Dietmar Exler, the new president and CEO of MBUSA. “As new core model lines like E-Class and GLS are introduced, we expect to set new records throughout the year.”

And they seem to have started chasing that annual record already. The sales leader was, once more, the C-Class sedan, with 6,102 cars sold, closely followed by the new GLE, with 3,948 vehicles delivered in February. As for the new GLC, it proudly rounds up the sales podium with an increase of 84.1%, meaning 3,278 units sold.

The AMGs are selling better and better. With 2,004 units sold in February only, the high-performance brand got a 164.4% compared to February 2015 (758 cars sold). The BlueTEC diesel models are going just as well, with 295, despite the Dieselgate and all the rumors around it.
