Better than good is best. The comparison of adjectives needs new options when it comes to the Mercedes-Benz sales, since the company keeps reporting highest volumes ever sold every month. It happened again at the very beginning of 2016, with 38,918 units sold in last year’s December. Last year, the premium brand sold a total of 380,461 vehicles across the United States of America, best ever sales figures.

The latest figures reported bring the premium brand to the highest annual volume in its history in the United States, reaching 380,461. The Mercedes-Benz USA’s sales in December went up by 1.7% compared to 2014’s December of 38,270 units sold, and up by 3.8% on a year-to-date basis, compared to 2014’s total of 366,589.

“This has been a great year and we begin 2016 with strong momentum from the recent launches of our GLE and GLC models. We’ll have a constant stream of new products in 2016 – cabriolets, coupes and AMG models – leading us to yet another banner year,” said Dietmar Exler, recently named President and CEO of MBUSA.

The C-Class model took center stage in December with 7,023 units sold across America, followed by the newly introduced GLE SUV, with 6,310 units. The E-Class kept up with them, being the third in the sales race, with 4,999 cars sold in December.

In 2015, it was again the C-Class that sold best (86,080 units), with the M/GLE-Class coming in the second spot (53,213 units), followed again by the E (49,736 units).

Mercedes-Benz Vans is adding up 4,046 vehicles sold during December, up by 23.1% over December 2014 and reaching a total of 29,889 cars delivered. At the opposite end, the tiniest of cars, the smarts, reached 669 happy customers.

Mercedes-AMG performance-oriented models registerd a 150.2% monthly sales growth up to 2,807 units in the last month of 2015, with a total of 17,456 speed addicts getting their hands on a brand-new AMG wheel in the year that has just passed. 11,057 BlueTEC diesel models were delievered in 2015.
