After the spring 2023 facelift that targeted the GLA and the less-powered AMG version, the AMG GLA 35 4Matic, Mercedes is now upgrading the top version, Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 S 4Matic+.

The main design change concerns the newly shaped front apron and the AMG logo on the bonnet. LED headlights are standard, and Multibeam LED headlights are optional. The wheel arch extensions are painted in body color, whereas before the facelift they were black. 20-inch wheels and red calipers are standard. At the rear, the round twin tailpipe and spoiler lip on the roof differentiate the AMG GLA 45 S 4Matic+ from the AMG GLA 35 version.

Inside, the AMG Performance steering wheel is standard, and the MBUX multimedia system has been upgraded to the latest version. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available wirelessly. For the first time, the Artico leatherette and Microcut microfibre combination can be ordered in Bahia brown. The new color for the ARTICO artificial leather is Sage Grey / Black. Also offered for the first time is open-pore lime wood in brown.

Customers can choose from three new alloy wheel designs: 19-inch AMG ten-spoke wheels in Bicolor Matt Black with high-gloss burnished surfaces and two 20-inch wheel designs in a five twin-spoke design painted in Bicolor Matt Black with high-gloss burnished surfaces or Bicolor Matt Black with high-gloss burnished rim flanges. There is also the option of AMG multi-spoke or cross-spoke 21-inch wheels.

The Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 S 4Matic+ has the same AMG engine like before the facelift, with a twin-scroll exhaust turbocharger developing 421 hp, mated to an AMG Speedshift DCT eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The unit is different from the ICE engine used in the new AMG C 63 S E Performance and AMG SL 43 4Matic with electrically driven turbine.

Compared to the AMG GLA 35, the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 S 4Matic+ additionally features Race mode, AMG all-wheel drive is fully variable, and torque is not only distributed between the front and rear axles but also between the rear wheels thanks to AMG Torque Control.
