Lewis Hamilton has just laid eyes on one of the company’s most exclusive concepts: the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 Cabriolet. Far from a series model, the concept though depicts the future design language of the brand’s models.
The 4-time Formula 1 champion came across the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 Cabriolet in California. Wearing a black hat and shirt, chequered pants and black boots, the extravagant star of motor racing knows style when he sees it. He was thus speechless when being face to face with the concept presented last year, at the Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach.

The car in Nautical Blue Metallic and fitted with 26-spoke wheels mirrors the Mercedes retro exclusivity and luxury. At almost 6 meters in length (5,700 mm), the concept runs solely on electric power, with a range of 500 kilometers according to NEDC and 200 miles according to the Environmental Protection Agency, provided by four electric motors and a battery pack mounted under the floor. The car is though much slower than the racer that Hamilton is accustomed to.
From America, Lewis Hamilton flew back to Europe, where he is preparing for the Grand Prix de France. He is currently second in the overall ranking, just one point behind Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel.
