Mercedes AMG Petronas and Puma to extend partnership

The Formula One Team of Mercedes AMG Petronas and Puma have agreed to extend their F1 partnership that started in 2012.

Thus, starting January 2015, Puma becomes the Official Supplier of Technical Clothing and Footwear and an Official Licensee of Footwear, Apparel and Accessories. This agreement extends furthermore the licensed rights that Brandon has for team replica and fan products. Mercedes AMG Petronas team drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg will wear Puma branded outfits, the lightweight race suits and performance footwear. The team will also wear Puma’s latest innovations in performance race wear at the F1 circuits.

The licensed Mercedes AMG Petronas collection will continue to be developed and distributed by Puma, while Brandon will provide the footwear, apparel and accessories inspired by the team’s heritage and driver personalities.

Toto Wolff, head of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport stated that “Puma has been a key performance partner for three seasons and we have now worked together, ensuring our drivers are outfitted in the lightest and most innovative performance race wear. This partnership is very important for Mercedes AMG Petronas and we are delighted that it will continue for the years ahead.”

Puma has a global reach and this is a key factor. The Germany-based multinational sportswear company also produces motorsport licensed gear for Ferrari and BMW. Their products are sold in over 120 countries, covering a wide range of fan’s needs. Puma also sponsors famous sports teams and personalities, including football teams such as Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund and Usain Bolt and other Jamaican athletics.

The Chief Executive Officer for Puma, Bjørn Gulden, agreed that Puma is looking forward to the next phase of this collaboration with Mercedes AMG Petronas.
