What is above the Mercedes-Maybach? Not much space left up there, isn’t it? But Carlex found some room to take the usual Maybach a bit higher. The tuner worked on the S650 version.
The limousine standardly comes with a 6.0-liter V12 engine rated at 630 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque. A seven-speed automatic gearbox takes it to the rear wheels. The car flashes from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.6 seconds. Not bad considering that the Maybach is far from being a ballerina at 2.4 tons (5,300 lbs).
All the luxury comes for quite a price, exceeding $200,000 in the U.S., one of the largest markets for the model, and that price is even before ticking any of the options of the long list of possibilities.
But if you don’t want to go down the list, Carlex Design would go for you. This is how the Mercedes-Maybach Aurum Edition comes to life. You only need to choose rose gold or yellow gold inserts.
The Polish tuner makes the car available in Obsidian Black and Designo Exclusive interior in leather. And an extravagant excess of gold. The shiny inserts are everywhere: on the steering wheel, on the speakers and pretty much on all buttons onboard.
