The Mercedes EQS undergoes the Manufaktur treatment in the United States. With special paint schemes and hand-stitched Nappa leather on board, the cars scream exclusivity. Only four versions will hit showrooms.
Four color options will be available for the Mercedes EQS 580 4MATIC Sedan and for the AMG version, with the first two in the list reserved for the base model and the latter two for the sporty one.
- Silicon Grey Non-Metallic with Mystic Red Exclusive Nappa Leather, Rubellite Red Metallic,
- Rubellite Red Metallic with Deep White Exclusive Nappa Leather,
- Night Black Magno with Deep White Exclusive Nappa Leather,
- Kalahari Gold Magno with Deep White Exclusive Nappa Leather.
There is a two-tone color combo on board, on the steering wheel, center console armrest, lower section of the dashboard, and door panels. The console also reminds the owner they’re dealing with the Manufaktur version. The special branding also brings high-pile carpet floor mats with contrasting Nappa leather borders and seat headrest pillows in microfiber.
Stateside, the EQS 580 starts at an MSRP of $125,950 (destination fee not included). For the money, customers are getting a car with two electric motors that bring along 516 horsepower (523 PS) and 631 lb-ft (855 Nm) of torque. There is a 108.4-kW battery back that allows the electric sedan to drive as far as 340 miles (547 kilometers), according to the EPA testing, before it needs to plug in again.
The AMG version comes with two electric motors as well, but it’s dealing with 649 horsepower (658 PS) and 700 lb-ft (949 Nm) for a run from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.4 seconds. The battery pack provides it with a 277-mile (446-kilometer) range. Those who want to take it home will have to start negotiations at $147,550.
No word on the pricing of the Manuafktur version just yet. Mercedes will start deliveries of the limited editions this spring.
