Mercedes-Benz USA reports best year ever

2016 was the best year ever for Mercedes-Benz USA, as the American branch reports sales of 380,752 cars, topping the record achieved in 2015 by 0.1%. MBUSA sold 37,057 vehicles in December only.

“MBUSA maintained a consistent pace throughout the year, which led us to our best sales result ever. In 2016, Mercedes-Benz was the best-selling luxury franchise in the U.S.,” statesd Dietmar Exler, president and CEO of MBUSA. “I want to thank Stuttgart, our dealers and everyone at MBUSA for helping us to have such an incredible year.”

The most popular model in December was still the C-Class sedan, with 7,345 units sold. The GLE SUV follows close behind, wih 5,574 models delivered. The new E-Class gets on the podium as well, with 4,851 units sold.

It was a record-breaking time for Mercedes-AMG as well. The high-performance models were acquired by 3,126 speed-addicted customers in December, reaching a 23,261 units sold year-to-date, up by an exhilarating 33.3% compared to 2015.

Separately, Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) models recorded sales of 10,981 vehicles in December. On a year-to-date basis, MBCPO sold 123,332 vehicles, marking a a growth of of 2.3%.
