The cheapest Mercedes-AMG SL starts at 118,708.45 euros. Although the price is almost 70,000 euros less than the AMG SL 63, it is still very high for a model with less power than the AMG A 45.
118,708.45 euro for a Mercedes with a 2 liter turbo engine and 381 HP is a lot. Equipped with an engine similar to that of the AMG A45 but supercharged with an electrically powered turbine, the first of its kind in the world, the Mercedes-AMG SL 43 has 40 HP less than its compact sibling. The 48V mild hybrid system includes a belt-driven starter generator that provides a small boost of 14 HP.
On the other hand, the 0-100 km/h acceleration of 4.9 seconds is very competitive.
The AMG Dynamic Plus package which is standard on the SL 63 costs 4,819 euro on the SL 43 and includes AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension lowered by 10 mm, additional Race mode, AMG brake callipers painted yellow and electronically controlled limited slip rear axle differential.
The AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension can also be ordered separately for 2,082.50 euro. Integral steering is also available for 2,261 euro.
The new AMG SL 43 can be configured with five design packages:
AMG Aerodynamics package which includes a higher rake angle spoiler (26.5 degrees instead of 22): 3,332 euros.
AMG Exterior Carbon-Fibre package with carbon-fibre elements: 5,712.00 euros
AMG Exterior Chrome package with elements in high-gloss chrome: 1,130.50 euros
AMG Night package: 892.50 euros
AMG Night package II: 654.50 euros
Two exclusive colours are also available: hyper blue metallic (1,178.10 euro) and monza grey magno (2,618 euro) and two types of 20-inch (1,725.80 euro) and 21-inch forged 10-spoke wheels, the last ones similar to those on V8 models (4,641 euro).
Comfort options include the Burmester Surround audio system (1,416.30 euros), Nappa leather-trimmed seats (3,272.50 euros) and AMG Performance seats (2,320.50 euros).
