After an extensive facelift in 2013, Mercedes has further enhanced the E-Class infotainment system with a new internet-enabled telematics generation.
Launched in 2009, the Mercedes E-Class was amply revised in 2013. Because of the rapid evolution of the world of communcation and media technology, Mercedes has updated the Comand Online multimedia system in the E-Class.
Paired with a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, the Comand Online Multimedia system offers internet functionality, allowing access to the internet without restrictions, while the vehcile is stationary. Other Mercedes-Benz apps like Mercedes-Benz radio or Service Mercedes-Benz can be used while the car is in motion.
Three multimedia systems are available for the E-Class.
- Audio 20 CD multimedia system with radio with twin tuners, traffic information decoder, CD drive with MP3 and other formats, Bluetooth interface, two USB ports, SD card slot and media Interface integrated into the head unit for the support of iPhone or iPod.
- Garmin Map Pilot navigation system, new to the E-Class, working in conjunction with the Audio 20 CD and storing its map data set on an SD card. It can be operated via the controller, as well as voice control.
- Comand Online multimedia system with DVD single drive, 200 GB hard disc for navigation, phone, audio, video and internet.
Life Traffic Information service is included free of charge for three years and helps to find optimum dynamic route guidance with very precise arrival times and highly accurate traffic data. Life Traffic Information takes into consideration a lot of data from various sources and transfers these data via the internet with the aid of a communication module with integral SIM card. The service is available in many European countries.
Also, the E-Class model range was completed with the E 220 BlueTec 4Matic, which delivers 170 HP and 400 Nm.
