At the annual Mercedes-Benz conference, CEO Ola Källenius presented a situation that is far from rosy. However, the head of Mercedes remains optimistic and hopes that an offensive of 40 new models and facelifts will return sales to an upward trend in 2026–2027. Here is the list of upcoming launches for the next two years.

Sales fell by 9% to just 1.8 million units, revenue dropped 9% to €132.21 billion, and profit was cut in half to only €5.33 billion in 2025: Mercedes is at an impasse. Ola Källenius hopes the new model offensive will bring fresh momentum. Here are the models scheduled for 2026 and 2027.

January 2026

Mercedes S-Class (W223) facelift

With more than 2,700 components changed, representing over 50% of the total, the facelifted S-Class comes with an electrically heated catalytic converter for diesel engines, a new V8 engine with flat-plane crankshaft, and more power for inline 6-cylinder engines.
The MB.OS operating system is also completely new, using Google services and artificial intelligence.
It also has a new dashboard with the MBUX Superscreen display, consisting of three screens grouped under the same glass, while the new, less expensive GLC EQ benefits from the Hyperscreen display, which is essentially a single giant screen with a diagonal of 99.3 cm.

Mercedes GLB EQ

The Mercedes GLB EQ is the third fully electric model on the MMA multi-propulsion platform after the CLA and CLA Shooting Brake. At 4.73 m long, it is no longer a compact SUV but rather a mid-size SUV.

Unlike the CLA, it can also be charged at 400V DC stations as an option. It is initially available only with the large 85 kWh net battery, which gives it a range of up to 631 km WLTP (GLB 250+, one motor, 272 PS), while the GLB 350 4Matic (2 motors, 354 PS) has a range of up to 614 km WLTP.

Like the other compact models, the GLB will also be available with mild hybrid combustion engines

  • Optional 400V DC charging

  • 85 kWh net battery at launch

  • Up to 631 km WLTP (GLB 250+, 272 hp)

  • Up to 614 km WLTP (GLB 350 4Matic, 354 hp)

Mercedes VLE & VLS

March 10, 2026 will see the world premiere of the Mercedes VLE, which together with the VLS will replace the V-Class. Built on the VAN.EA platform with 800V technology, the Mercedes VLE will be positioned in the E-Class segment and will offer several versions: a classic minivan with up to eight seats, a camper van, and a version for VIP shuttle services. The luxury VLS version will follow later.

Mercedes GLC EQ

The Mercedes GLC EQ should be the car that changes customers’ perception of Mercedes electric models. Based on the new MB.EA platform, it features:

  • 800V architecture, charging up to 330 kW

  • giant Hyperscreen across the entire dashboard

  • MB.OS with Google services & AI integration

  • adaptive air suspension & rear-axle steering

Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe EQ

Ultimately, the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door electric coupe, which inaugurates the AMG.EA platform, will replace the combustion engine model. Michael Schiebe, former head of AMG, is optimistic and, although high-performance, expensive electric cars are not selling particularly well, he believes that the AMG GT 4-door coupe will attract more customers thanks to its extremely powerful and compact Yasa axial-flow motors.

It will be available in two versions: with two motors and around 958 PS, and with three motors, two at the rear and one at the front, with up to 1,360 PS.

Mercedes C-Class facelift

As part of the facelift, the headlights will feature a light signature that mimics the Mercedes logo, as in the E-Class. The engines will be upgraded to comply with Euro 7 standards.

And as with the AMG GLC 53 4Matic presented a few days ago, Mercedes is discontinuing the AMG C 43 and AMG G 63 based on 4-cylinder engines, which will be replaced by the new AMG C 53 4matic with an inline 6-cylinder engine and mild hybrid technology.

Autumn 2026

Mercedes C-Class EQ

The Mercedes C-Class EQ is the second model based on the MB.EA platform with 800V technology and three batteries:

  • 64 kWh LFP

  • 85 kWh NMC (like CLA EQ)

  • 94 kWh NMC (like GLC EQ)

With the 94 kWh battery, range exceeds 800 km WLTP — still below the upcoming BMW i3 (March 2026), which promises 1,000 km WLTP. The Mercedes C-Class EQ will only be available as a sedan, with no station wagon version planned.

Fourth and final MMA-platform model. It debuts as an EV, followed later by mild-hybrid combustion versions.

Mercedes GLE & GLE Coupe facelift

Originally launched in 2018 and facelifted in early 2023, both SUV versions will receive a second facelift:

  • updated inline-six diesel and petrol engines

  • refinements introduced with the S-Class facelift

Mercedes GLS facelift

The larger seven-seat sibling will also be refreshed this autumn, gaining revised S-Class engines and the new flat-plane V8.

2027

Mercedes E-Class EQ

Mercedes has recognized the mistake it made in developing a highly aerodynamic but impractical body for the EQE. Therefore, its successor, which will debut in 2027, will have a classic body, similar to that of the E-Class, and will be the third model built on the MB.EA platform after the GLC EQ and C-Class EQ. It is possible that the official presentation will take place by the end of 2026 and the market launch will take place in the first part of 2027.

Mercedes “Baby” G-Class

The Mercedes G-Class was one of the few Mercedes models that was successful in 2025, especially the AMG G 63 version, which accounted for more than half of the brand’s sales. In contrast, the electric version is selling rather poorly and almost not at all in the US and China. Because the G-Class is very expensive, Mercedes will launch a more compact and cheaper version.
After much discussion, the Mercedes G-Class baby will use a separate chassis body as required of a true off-roader, while the electric and mild hybrid engines will come from the compact MMA platform.

  • body-on-frame construction (true off-roader)

  • electric & mild-hybrid powertrains from the MMA platform

2028

Mercedes A-Class successor

“Never say never.” Initially, Ola Kallenius said that the A-Class would disappear just as the B-Class had disappeared. Then, after sales began to decline, Kallenius announced that production would continue until 2028. And recently, production was moved from Rastatt to Kecsemet.
And now, the new CTO, Jorg Burzer, who replaced Markus Schafer, has announced that the A-Class will have a successor on the MMA platform. However, it appears that it will have a crossover body rather than a classic hatchback, as traditional hatchbacks are no longer in fashion.
