Here comes Mercedes to ruin the party that Rolls-Royce and Bentley started. The uninvited guest is the Mercedes-Maybach Haute Voiture concept car. And it seems ready to take on both the Phantom and the Flying Spur Mulliner.

Mercedes-Maybach rolls out the concept car that previews a limited-edition version that will be available starting next year. Based on the Maybach S-Class, the concept car displays its elegant silhouette in a two-tone finish that puts together dark nautical blue for the upper section and rose gold for the lower half. The nautical blue matches the aerodynamically-optimized wheels. Meanwhile, chrome accents round up the looks of the luxury sedan.

“The color and equipment concept of the Mercedes-Maybach Haute Voiture has never existed before. We’re fusing the art of high fashion and automotive design at the highest level to create something completely new.” Explains design chief Gorden Wagener.

The luxurious cabin mirrors the exterior paint scheme. Boucle fabric in blue, nappa leather, beige and rose gold shades highlight opulence typical to the segment. It is a fashion-inspired cabin that makes you feel like you just entered a jewelry store with a no-limit credit card.

The MBUX spectacular screen comes with shimmering rose gold accents as well. There are champagne flutes on board the limousine, as well as white faux fur.

Mercedes is yet to decide on pricing of the Maybach Haute Voiture

Mercedes makes no reference to what lies underneath the hood of the Haute Voiture concept car. But as we know them, they probably went all in, with the V12 that powers the S 680 version.

The concept car was on display during The Art of Creating Desire exhibition in Cote d’Azur. The production-ready versions will be available starting in 2023 in super limited numbers. No details on pricing yet, nor availability. Also on display and soon available in only 150 units was the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 by Virgil Abloh.
