Mercedes-Benz is the world’s most valuable premium automobile brand, the current “Best Global Brands 2018” ranking shows. In the overall ranking, the German luxury car maker ranks 8th, while rival BMW is in the 13th spot.
Mercedes-Benz proudly stands as the only European brand in the top 10 made up by the U.S. brand consulting company Interbrand. The value of the brand raised by 48.6 billion dollars compared to 2017.
Tradition, innovative strength and will of constant reinvention and adapting to trends are those that placed the car with the star at the top.
It is the 19th edition of the annual Best Global Brands study published by Interbrand. CEOs from all over the world consider the study in order to determine the competitive benchmark for he value of international brands.
There are three evaluation factors Interbrand take into account for establishing the world’s top 100 most valuable brands:
- Financial performance of the brand’s products and services;
- Role of the brand in the purchase decision-making process;
- Strength of the brand in relation to safeguarding the company’s future revenue.
Mercedes-Benz is also the leader of the worldwide premium automobile manufacturers in the current “Global 500 2018” ranking, established by the US brand valuation company Brand Finance, that examines 500 brands.
With a brand value of 43.9 billion dollars (24% more than in 2017), the German premium car maker stands at the 15th spot in the most valuable European brands top.
