Mercedes-Benz has just teased the CLA facelift and we are to see it very soon. How soon will it happen exactly? Tomorrow-like soon.

The Mercedes-Benz CLA facelift will make its debut on January 18, with updated styling and tech. The engine lineup will also undergo some changes in order to keep up with the new emissions regulations.

The four-door coupe now shows up in a teaser that only reveals the shape of the taillights. And with their curvy shape, they are unlike anything else that we have seen in the company’s portfolio.

There should be changes at the opposite end as well. Mercedes might have redesigned the radiator grille, but also the headlights. Expect them to look like those on the facelifted A-Class, that made its debut back in October.

Also from the A-Class, the CLA should carry over the new streamlined center console with a touchpad controller. The latest version of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) should be on board. A new steering wheel is also in the cards.

To keep up with the new regulations, Mercedes will be electrifying the entire CLA lineup. The four-cylinder 1.3-liter engine, which the premium carmaker developed with the Renault-Nissan Alliance, will most likely keep its ground, but will get mild-hybrid technology. That should bring either 136 PS (134 HP) or 163 PS (161 HP). Mercedes isn’t ditching the diesel yet in the CLA lineup. So the 150 PS (148 HP) CLA 200 d Coupe and the CLA 220 d Coupe, with front- and all-wheel drive will continue its career. A plug-in hybrid should also show up, with the AMG variants dropping by later on.

We’ll find out more tomorrow, January 18. So stay tuned!
