Vredestein and Carlsson teamed-up to develop bespoke high-performance tires for the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Talking about the privileged, huh?
When your name is Mercedes-Benz C-Class, you should expect special treatment from some tuners, especially from Mercedes-focused Carlsson and their Dutch partner, Apollo Vredestein.
After a successful five-year partnership, Vredestein and premier Mercedes tuner Carlsson have launched a bespoke high-performance tire for the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class: Carlsson Vredestein Ultrac Vorti.
Described by its makers as a “premium ultra-high performance tire at the top end of the market”, the Carlsson Vredestein Ultrac Vorti features an asymmetric tread pattern that has been developed in close cooperation with the Italian designer Giugiaro, for a “unique and sporty appearance”.
The tire has been developed exclusively for the new C-Class in 19-inch sizes (225/40ZR19 and 255/35ZR19) and offers a “raised ridge for protection against light kerb damage, outstanding steering precision and a speed rating of over 300 km/h.”
“We have developed a tire that perfectly translates the terrific dynamic ability of the new C-Class to the road,” said Carlsson’s Managing Director Markus Schuster.
According to Vredestein, high-speed testing took place at the ATP test facility in Papenburg, with many kilometers covered on the Nurburgring-Nordschleife as well as public roads.
