The Mercedes-AMG GT4 is presented where it feels at home: on the racetrack, in the latest video made public by the Affalterbach-based power house. Early morning, with the sun just up in the sky, a gentleman arrives at the circuit. He parks his own AMG performance car in a pit box, next to a GT4.
“First, we built the GT3. Then we made it street legal. The GT R was born”, says the voiceover with reference to the beast of the Green Hell. But now it’s the moment of the racing GT4 to set the standards.
The video concludes with a family photo: the 2014-GT facelifted last year and sporting the new Panamericana radiator grille, in the exclusive company of the GT R and the GT4.
The video is more of a preview for the street-legal version of the GT4, a car made to compete against the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the Cayman GT4. The racing version is set to make its debut in motorsport this year. The car has already been put through its paces in the 6-hour race of the VLN on the Nordschleife.
