The Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster by Posaidon is quite a beast. A blue one, for the matter. The car is the lastest project of the tuner.
Posaidon must have felt the need of the power of the Black Series in an open top experience. Therefore they picked the Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster for the upgrade.
The model received an RS 830+ package. This takes the output all the way to 880 horsepower and a peak torque of 1,000 Newton meters. Therefore, it comes on top of the Black Series, with its 737 horsepower and 800 Newton meters of torque. How did the tuning experts get there? They fitted new ball-bearing turbochargers, forged high-performance pistons and a sports air filter. Updated fuel pumps and high-performance spark plugs are part of the menu. And so are the new exhaust manifolds and downpipes with catalytic converters. Posaidon also performed some tweaks to the ECU (Electronic Control Unit).
Therefore the Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster by Posaidon is now capable of running from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.9 seconds. Its new top speed is 360 km/h. Yes, you read that right. In order to sustain such acceleration, the tuners also worked on the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster by Posaidon in tuned-down variants
There may be people who want more than standard, but not maximum. For them, there is also a tamed variant of the tuned car. It sports 830 horsepower only and a peak torque of 950 Newton meters.
For even less, Posaion offers the Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster with 780 horsepower and 850 Newton meters. Those who want to keep a low profile in terms of performance can go for the ECU tune only. That takes the standard 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 to 670 horsepower and 800 Nm.
