We all know what Brabus does to Mercedes-Benz and smart cars: they are transformed into 4-wheels beasts. This time, however, Brabus surprised it’s fans with a life-style upgrade for the new smart ForTwo. The “tailor made” monicker is something you’d expect to see on the catwalk, not in a motorshow…
The most powerful version of smart ForTwo is going to be the turbocharged 90 HP 898 cmc in the near future, but we expect Brabus to “do it’s magic” and to offer more than 100 HP on the little ForTwo. In the meantime, the tuner uses another kind of magic for those who are really in love with the new city car.
On the ocsasion of 2014 Paris Motorshow, Mercedes-Benz displayed a special edition smart ForTwo tailor made, that has been intensively touched by Brabus. The “tailor made” personalisation program was started four years ago and is all about exterior and interior cosmetic touches.
Starting with the special colors “Evening Red” or “Blue Dark Knight” (although we see no resemblance to Batman…), the smart ForTwo tailor made is a little bit different from a normal ForTwo. And “les connaisseurs” will know it when they’ll see the badge above the front fender.
The interior is also modified: door inserts, instrument panel, gear knob and steering wheel got a leather cover, the seats are new, specially designed by Brabus and are covered by Nappa leather (in either “Graphite” or “Ivory” tint), while the real-time navigation system is provided by TomTom. Prices are expected to be pretty high related to the standard smart ForTwo, but a smart modified by Brabus is already seen as a very special car for very special people.
