Mercedes has announced pricing for its new luxury van, the Mercedes VLE, which the company describes as a “Grand Limousine.” The Mercedes VLE 300 starts at €70,735, while the VLE 400 4Matic is priced from €78,452.

The new all-electric Mercedes VLE is much more than an electric equivalent of the V-Class. It is a luxury limousine in van form, available with five, six, seven or eight seats.

The entry-level Mercedes VLE 300 starts at €70,735 in five-seat configuration, while the six-seat version costs €71,188. The seven-seat version, with two seats in the second row and three in the third, is priced at €71,707. The eight-seat version, with three seats in both the second and third rows, costs €79,671 because it comes with additional equipment.

The Mercedes VLE 300 is powered by a 276-hp electric motor driving the front wheels and is equipped with a 115-kWh NMC battery with a usable capacity of 115 kWh, giving it a WLTP range of up to 678 km.

The range-topping Mercedes VLE 400 4Matic uses the same 115-kWh net battery and is powered by two electric motors producing a combined 422 hp. It offers a WLTP range of 644 km. Prices start at €78,452 for the five-seat version and €78,909 for the six-seat model.

The Mercedes VLE is not just a luxury limousine suitable for use as a shuttle by high-end hotels. It can also be an excellent holiday companion. The range-topping VLE 400 4Matic can tow up to 2.5 tonnes and features a 100-kg towbar load capacity, an ESP trailer stabilization system and Trailer Maneuvering Assist.

Standard equipment on the entry-level version includes the MBUX navigation system, wireless smartphone charging, LED High Performance headlights, as well as heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.

Three equipment lines are available – AMG Line, AMG Line Plus and Exclusive – combined with four option packages: Advanced, Advanced Plus, Premium and Premium Plus.

Comfort suspension is standard, while Airmatic air suspension is available as an option for €2,205. Rear-axle steering is either standard or optional, depending on the version.
