Mercedes-Benz picks up awards like kids pick up chestnuts in the park. The Stuttgart-based car maker has just ticked a hat-trick in three categories in the “autonis” readers’ awards.

The readers of the “auto motor und sport” car magazine have selected Mercedes-Benz to be the design brand of the year. GLE Coupe was not a simple spectator in this. The Mercedes SUV got top spot in the “Large cross-country vehicles” category. And so did the sporty Merc, Mercedes-AMG GT in the “Sport cars” category.

For the past 15 years, the readers of “auto motor und sport” have the opportunity to vote for their favorite new automotive design in the “autonis” awards, each fall. In 2015, there were 115 new products divided in ten categories to elect from.

17,500 readers participated in the “auto motor und sport” poll.

It was not just design they awarded, but the best connectivity as well. “Auto motor und sport” and “CHIP” computer magazine have joined forces to offer the prize. And Mercedes-Benz snapped that, too! Three of them, to be more precise! The cars with the three-pointed star got an award for its Burmester high-end 3D surround system in the “Sound systems” category. The C-Class operating system knocked down the “Operating systems and displays” trophy, while the Driving Assistance package PLUS won the “Assistance systems (safety)” sector.

Daimler’s car-sharing service car2go was also rewarded for the innovative efficiency of tis smartphone application: the “Car Connectivity Award” now shines on their super precious glass case.
