This Is Why Lewis Hamilton Will Never Drive a Ferrari

“I will never drive for Ferrari,” Lewis Hamilton says. And there is a reason why he says that. He has been with Mercedes for his entire career in Formula 1.

Lewis made his debut in F1 back in 2007, when he started driving for McLaren Mercedes. But he had joined McLaren’s junior program back in 1998. It was legendary Ron Dennis who got his eyes on the young Briton when he was only 13. Later on, in 2013, Lewis joined Mercedes and started absolute domination of the championship. Only his teammate Nico Rosberg interrupted his fabulous title-winning series in 2016.

Hamilton is the owner of two Ferrari LaFerraris and has been a fan of the street-legal cars of the Maranello brand for ages. But seems to love Mercedes too much to make the switch. It’s not like the Italians wouldn’t take the seven-time world champion, holder of pole positions and wins records.

The F1 driver told the Italian outlet “Corriere della Sera” that he will cheer for Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc instead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. No one had a doubt about it since it was Max who snatched the World Championship title from the Briton on the very last lap of the very last race last year.

Furthermore, the Mercedes driver says that is what he will always be. “Of course, it would be nice to race for Ferrari during my career. But things happen because of a reason. Mercedes is my family. I will always be a Mercedes driver, just like Stirling Moss,” he explained. Furthermore, one of his tattoos reads “Loyalty” as a confirmation of his long-term relationship with the team.

Lewis Hamilton will be turning 38 in January next year and has one more season to spend with Mercedes-AMG Petronas. After the 2023 season, he will most likely retire. But before that happens, he hopes he will win his record-breaking 8th championship with Mercedes.
