The new Mercedes-Benz GLC gets the MBUX system, a new generation of engines and innovative assistance systems. It is the first time the SUV is equipped with the DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL.

The new Mercedes-Benz GLC now features a redesigned front end, characterized by the LED High-Performance headlights (MULTIBEAM headlights are optional), flanking the intimidating-looking radiator grille, sectioned by two horizontal slats. At the opposite end, the SUV gets LED taillights and a new bumper.

New colors show up in the range such as graphite grey, together with new design wheels with sizes ranging between 17 and 19 inches. Equipped with the AMG Line, the car gets the diamond-patterned radiator grille and angular exhausts at the rear.

The Base Line brings onboard black finishes and the center console gets piano lacqured elements and the two new wood surface finishes: open-pore ash and walnut.

The multifunctional steering wheel can be ordered in one of the two options possible. It features the Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC and touch controls for the instrument cluster and infotainment system. They can also be controlled via the touchpad in the center console, by voice and manually, by letters and figures inputs, as well as by gestures. The video camera located above the control panel captures the movements of the hand as it approaches the touchscreen or the touchpad on the centre console.

The relevant information is displayed on the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The infotainment display can be ordered in one of the two sizes available: 7 or 10.25 inches.

New Mercedes-Benz GLC (11)

The new Mercedes-Benz GLC is standardly-fit with KEYLESS-GO. The one behind the steering wheel has the freedom to choose one of the seven driving modes. Besides the already familiar Comfort, Eco, Sport, Sport+ și Individual, the variants equipped with the Off-Road Engineering Package additionally get the Off-Road and Off-Road+ modes.

The engine range has been updated and will receive new 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engines. Thus the M 264 replaces the former M 274 in the GLC 200 and GLC 300, while the diesel OM 654 comes instead of the former OM 651. The GLC 200 4MATIC brings 197 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque, the GLC 300 4MATIC gets 258 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. They both get the 48-volt system, that provides them with extra 150 Nm.

The diesel range is made up by the GLC 200 d 4MATIC with 163 horsepower and 360 Nm, the GLC 200 d 4MATIC – 194 horsepower and 400 Nm and the GLC 300 d 4MATIC – 245 horsepower and 500 Nm. Regardless of the engine choice, the SUV gets the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system and the 9-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.

For the first time, the GLS is equipped with the DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL suspension, that allows individual damping control for each of the wheels. It is operated with the DYNAMIC SELECT switch and offers three selectable stages: Sport, Sport+ and Comfort.

The optional Driving Assistance Package comes with Active Distance Assist, Active Steer Assist, Active Speed Limit, Active Blind Spot Assist and Active Brake Assist with turn-off and cross-traffic function PRE-SAFE PLUS.
