It may be late to the party of the traditional pick-up trucks, but it’s bound to make up the difference that separates it from its rivals, starting October, when it will hit the showrooms worldwide.

Propelled by a 2.3-liter turbocharged diesel engine, the Mercedes-Benz X-Class is bound to show good manners on the tarmac and high capabilities on rough terrain. On the inside, the X sports the dials borrowed from the C-Class mid-size sedan, while the floating screen with optional COMAND Online infotainment system, this is the biggest display in this mid-size pickup segment (7.0-inch display is offered as standard). The Dynamic Select provides a choice between Comfort, Eco, Sport, Manual and Off-road driving modes. A Winter Package (heated front seats and windscreen washer nozzles) and a Parking Package (parking assistance and a 360-degree camera) will be available if the buyer ticks all the right boxes.

“The X-Class will drive like a Mercedes”, the premium brand executive promise the evening they send the vehicle into the world in an official presentation taking place in Cape Town, South Africa.
