Mercedes-Benz is taking fans by surprise with one hell of a concept. The Stuttgart grand brand has just released a teaser video of its latest concept. The Mercedes-Maybach 6 Convertible will be shown at the Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach, exactly one year after its coupe sibling.

One year later after the 3-pointed star company showed the cherry red Vision Maybach 6 Concept, the longest coupe in the world, it’s now just the right time for the convertible. The teaser video shows the car painted in a shade of blue and showcasing the styling cues of last year’s model. An interminably elongated hood, prominent front wheel arches, high-end futuristic interior, resembling that of the coupe, are just a few of the details that make up the concept that would probably rival the Rolls-Royce Dawn.

With so many resemblances, there will be no wonder if the drop-top concept comes powered by the same propelling system, made up of four permanent magnet synchronous electric motors and an 80-kWh battery back and all-wheel drive, adding up to a total output of 750 horsepower, enough to make the automobile and all its 6 meters of luxury run the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) distance) in approximately 4 seconds.

The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance debuts on August, 17th. This year’s edition will be quite eventful, as rival BMW is planning to show its Z4 Concept. Brace yourself!
