The Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake, the fifth member of the Mercedes compact family, will be available at the end of March 2015 with two diesel and three petrol engines.
Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake is completing the compact family models, the largest Mercedes has had in history.
With a length/width/height of 4,630/1,777/1,435 mm, CLA Shooting Brake has a footprint almost similar to the C-Class T-Model (L/w/h 4,702/1,810/1,457 mm) and the standard boot volume is even bigger by 5 litres for the CLA Shooting Brake (495 litres compared with 490 litres of the C-Class T-Model).
And if the rear bench is put into the more steeply raked “cargo” position, the load capacity increases to 595 litres. The maximum boot volume with rear seats folded down is 1,354 litres.
There are options for an electrically operated Easy Pack tailgate and Load Compartment package (it includes a 12V socket, an additional stowage net at the side and a collapsible box).
Mercedes claims that the headroom in the rear was significantly improved, related to the CLA. With 94,7 cm, the interior height in the back is 4 cm larger than in the CLA.
Already from the start, Mercedes is offering an extensive range of engines, which includes two diesel and three petrol engines. All versions are equipped with the Eco start/stop function and are Euro 6 compliant.
The model range comprisse of the CLA 200 CDI (2.2 litre/136 HP), the CLA 220 CDI (2.2 litre/177 HP), CLA 180 (1.6 litre/122 HP), the CLA 200 (1.6 litre/156 HP) and the CLA 250 (2.0 litre/211 HP).
An the all wheel drive version is available from the start in the shape of the CLA 250 4Matic and the CLA 250 Sport 4Matic (tuned engine, sporty response, sporty engine sound, dynamic styling). Other two all wheel drive versions will come in September 2015: the CLA 200 CDI 4Matic and the CLA 220 CDI 4Matic.
The CLA Shooting Brake is available with two equipment lines: AMG Line and Urban, plus a special OrangeArt Edition serie.
The AMG Line includes an AMG kit, 18 inch 5 twin spoke light allowy wheels, sports seats with Artico leather/Dinamica microfibre and a multifunction sports steering wheel with flattened bottom.
In the first ten months of 2014 Mercedes sold 375,000 units of the A, the B, the CLA and the GLA models from a total of 900,000 units sold from the new generation of compact models started at the end of 2011 with the new B-Class.
From all these 900,000 units, 100,000 were CLAs.
The CLA Shooting Brake is built in the Mercedes factory from Kecsemet, Hungary.
