Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the ultimate open-air experience: the most luxurious Mercedes convertible ever built. The Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Cabriolet is powered by the 6.0-liter V12 engine with 630 HP. It is an exclusive model, that will mostly find room in the exquisite collections: only 300 units shall be built.
Shortly after giving the world a glimpse into the future of mobile luxury at the Paris Motor Show, with the Vision Mercedes-Maybach, the brand brings the real thing: the Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Cabriolet, the luxury itself put on the road.
The convertible Maybach heavily relies on the drop-top S-Class in terms of proportion, but exclusive Mercedes-Maybach features have been fitted in it: a new front bumper, a high number of chrome highlights and naturally, the double M logo amplify the look of exclusivity. The cabriolet floats above the ground on 20-inch Maybach forged wheels in a bichrome finish. The opening of the door shall project the brand’s logo onto the ground.
Once the doors open, the VIP passengers are treated to a visionary concept, with the waterfall-like seat upholstery layout defined by progressive perforations, diamond quilting on the seat side bolsters and various three-dimensional trim elements. Optionally, the future owner can make the Maybach match his Mercedes-Benz Style “Arrow 460-Granturismo” yacht, by fitting it with a unique yacht detailing.
Designo nut brown magnolia is an exclusive trim especially conceived for the model. There are also nine additional interior color concepts, going from pastel yellow/black to porcelain/saddle brown.
The luxury brand logos have been embroidered on the front side of the seats, embossed on the head restraints and inlaid in the stowage cover of the center console. The model presented in Los Angeles features the chrome-plated “1 of 300” lettering on the cup holders, showing that it is the first model of the limited edition series.
Features that come as options in the S-Class Cabriolet, such as AIRSCARF, AIRCAP and Swarovski crystals in the headlights are now standard for the Maybach convertible.
Each Mercedes-Maybach Cabriolet is delivered with a special welcome pack. This comprises a key ring made of the nappa leather used in the vehicle and in the interior colour, with Maybach emblem and “1 of 300” lettering, as well as a certificate signed by Dr Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars.
The Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Cabriolet comes accompanied by a travel luggage set. The Affinity” set from the Maybach – Icons of Luxury includes two large travel bags, but also two lifestyle bags made of the original vehicle leather.
The cabriolet is powered by the 6.0-liter biturbo V12 engine, able to develop 630 HP (463 kW). The power goes to the rear axle via the 7G-TRONIC transmission. The AIRMATIC suspension with variable damping control provides the uniquely comfortable driving sensation.
The first ever Maybach cabriolet will hit the market in the spring of 2017. Only 300 units will go on sale, each with a net tag price of 300,000 Euros.
