The new Mercedes GLS Facelift is here, together with its more powerful and daring siblings, the AMG GLS 63 and Maybach GLS 600 versions. It comes with new looks and updated tech.
Mercedes updates the GLS lineup, soon after working on the GLA, GLB and GLE/GLE Coupe. It is now the time for the GLS to shine. And shine it does with a redesigned front fascia with four galvanized louvers in high-quality silver shadow, with a more prominent bumper that includes air intakes with a high-gloss black frame. The underguard offered as standard has been redesigned.
At the rear, the taillights have a similar shape, but the lights have been redesigned, with the three horizontal light blocks standing out.
The SUV gets new 20-inch wheels in Himalayas Grey finish and two new colors – Bahia Brown and Catalana Beige for the leather upholstery. And glossy brown lime wood inserts are standard.
The Mercedes GLS is still available with seven seats as standard, while the Off-road Engineering package has been revised and includes an underride guard, and a 30 mm increased ground clearance. As with the GLE facelift and EQS SUV, the Off-road mode on the instrument cluster comes with multiple typical off-road displays such as gradient, lateral inclination, compass, and steering angle.
The Parking Package with a 360-degree camera and “transparent” bonnet is now standard. The Mercedes GLS can tow a trailer of up to 3.5 tonnes, and the load on the tow hook is 140 kg. The towbar also has two additional bolts on which a bike carrier can be mounted to carry a payload of 100 kg. This means that also an e-bike can be transported.

Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4Matic
The sporty version of the GLS has more standard equipment with an electric panoramic sliding sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, and adaptive high beam assist. Two new exterior colors have also appeared: Manufaktur Alpingrey uni and Sodalite blue metallic. On the bonnet, the Mercedes logo has been replaced by the AMG logo.
The brake calipers are also painted red. The AMG GLS 63 4Matic runs on 21-inch ten-spoke alloy wheels as standard, and 22- or 23-inch wheels can be optionally ordered.
Inside, the seats and instrument cluster are upholstered in Exclusive Nappa leather, and two new upholstery colors are available – Bahia brown/black or Macchiato beige/black. The AMG version also features the new generation of the MBUX multimedia system with AMG-specific menus.
For the first time, Mercedes introduced a mild hybrid 48V on the V8 bi-turbo engine with a starter generator integrated between the engine and the gearbox, and not belt-driven like before. AMG Ride Control+ adaptive suspension is standard, and active anti-roll bars are optional.
