The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV is on its way. The German carmaker is teasing the upcoming SUV by showing a photo of a car covered in a tarpaulin.
Little do we see under there. But we can guess the design cues of the future model that takes inspiration from the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV. It will have that broad radiator grille with vertical slats, like that on the Maybach S-Class and GLS, that will provide it with quite an intimidating front fascia. And there will be the double M logo on the C-pillars, visible from the sides. Meanwhile, the rear will display the EQS 680 moniker.
The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV will be the exclusive version of the standard model, breathing luxury and comfort. The carmaker will fit in there the company’s best materials and features, as they usually do with the Maybach models. Most likely, there will be armchair-like seats with individual reclining in the rear, ready to pamper the precious occupants sitting back there. Meanwhile, the driver will benefit from the presence of the 56-inch Hyperscreen, stretching from pillar to pillar.
Mercedes accounts the company’s future model with a combined power consumption between 24.4 and 22.5 kWh/100 km, claiming new standards of luxury mobility with zero emissions. The range-topper EQS SUV is currently the EQS 580 with a dual-motor setup and all-wheel drive or a total of 536 horsepower and 633 lb-ft of torque. The car can hit 60 mph (97 km/h) in 4.6 seconds. So we should expect more from the EQS 680 SUV in terms of figures and performance.
The 107.8-kWh battery will most likely make its way into the upcoming Maybach.
