Mercedes has announced the prices and optional equipment for the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door Coupe, which are lower than those of the rival Porsche Taycan with an equivalent powertrain. But the options significantly increase the price. I configured a Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4-door Coupe and here’s where I ended up.
The top-version Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4-door Coupe 4Matic starts at 196,350 euros.
We begin with the chassis and selected all the options that deliver top-level driving dynamics.
The AMG Dynamic Plus package with AMG Active Ride Control suspension featuring active roll stabilization, AMG Race Engineer, Race mode, and AMG Track Pace are standard on the top AMG GT 63 version.
But after that, you really have to open your wallet wide:
- AMG Driver package – 6,247.50 euros
- Aerokinetics Venturi Flow – 5,176.50 euros
- AMG Aerodynamics package – 4,522 euros (excluded if Aerokinetics is ordered)
Next, we move on to charging and discover that the standard charging power is up to 350 kW, while the 600 kW capability is optional through the AMG Performance Charging package costing 2,380 euros.
We then move to the interior and make the following choices:
- Top AMG Performance High-End seat package – 6,116.60 euros
- Head-up display – 1,297.10 euros
- Augmented reality navigation – 464.10 euros
- Multicontour front seats – 1,904 euros
- Ventilated front seats – 916.30 euros
- Heated rear seats – 428.40 euros
- Burmester High-End 4D Surround sound system – 4,879 euros
- Thermotronic climate control – 1,011.50 euros
Since it is a sporty coupe, we prefer to keep the standard configuration with two individual rear seats and save the 821.10 euros charged for the three-seat rear bench.
We also prefer the carbon-fiber roof, which on the top version comes at no extra cost, instead of the illuminated panoramic roof, allowing us to save another 2,975 euros.
We also add a Manufaktur paint finish costing 7,021 euros and Imperial Manufaktur Nappa leather for 6,247 euros.
This brings the total to 236,679.10 euros. What do you think? Is that a lot or not? By comparison, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT costs 241,100 euros.
