Mercedes will dominate the 2015 edition of the Detroit Auto Show with five new models.
It is not easy to say what the most expected Mercedes-Benz novelty will be, at the 2015 edition of Detroit Auto Show.
- We would bet on the new AMG sport line. For the first time in the AMG history, the AMG range will consist of two different product lines. Between the Mercedes regular models and the top of the AMG line models, Mercedes will offer the “midway solution”: uprated engine output, all wheel drive as standard and special drivetrain components and brake systems from the classic AMG models, according to the Daimler description.

With the AMG Sport line, Mercedes-AMG plans to double sales in the next three years and, on the other hand, the new product line will make an additional significant contribution towards lowering fuel consumption of the AMG fleet.
As the first teaser showed, the first two models within the AMG Sport Line will be the C 450 AMG and the GLE 450 AMG.
As Mercedes has already announced, the GLE 450 AMG will be powered by a 3 litre V6 bi-turbo with 367 HP and 520 Nm, mated with the new 9 speed automatic gearbox 9G-Tronic.
The second model is the C 450 AMG saloon with around 420 HP rumoured power, which means 90 HP less than the powerful 510 HP C 63 AMG.
- The Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is another crucial news for Mercedes-Benz, due to two reasons: it is the first SUV coupe in the Mercedes range and the first competitor for the BMW X6 and, on the other hand, the GLE Coupe inaugurates the new Airmatic adaptive drivetrain with five programs, which will also be absorbed by the GLE facelift, the successor of the current ML.

According to the first co-driver of the Auto Bild magazine, the GLE Coupe provides more headroom and kneeroom in the rear than the BMW X6 and is more comfortable.
- The Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake is the shooting brake version of the CLA saloon and the idea of this derivated model came from the CLS big brother. Even if the estate versions are not very well appreciated in the US market, there is infomation that Mercedes will launch the CLA Shooting Brake in Detroit to benefit from the huge success of the CLA saloon in the US.

4. Mercedes GLE 63 AMG Coupe is the big Mercedes surprise for Detroit. It is a surprise only at first sight, but in the middle of SUV segment boom and taking into consideration the release of BMW X6M first informations, Mercedes GLE 63 AMG Coupe is the right answer at the right moment. So, in Detroit we will see the whole family of the new GLE Coupe: the normal version, the AMG Sport Line version badged GLE 450 AMG with 367 HP and the GLE 63 AMG Coupe.
