The future Mercedes-Benz GLE shows its face in a video teaser, inching closer to its soon-to-happen debut. The Audi Q7 and the BMW X5 are waiting for their updated rival.
A short video shows the light signature of the future SUV together with the radiator grille, divided by a single louver that supports the three-pointed star logo. The daytime running lights, similar to those of the E-Class sedan, and the wide air intakes, accompanied by the prominent front bumper, reflect a sporty and muscular design.
Final countdown: All-new Mercedes-Benz GLE caught with virtually no camo
No new information surfaces, but we already know that the GLE will feature a more modern design, in the attempt to keep up with the company’s other new models. The Benz SUV is set to receive a brand-new cabin, with the company’s latest infotainment system MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) controlling the main functions.
A new three spoke steering wheel, a newly-developed 4-wheel drive system and new advanced safety features will make it one of the smartest premium SUVs out there.
No word on engines, but we can assume that a 3.0-liter straight-six with EQ Boost technology will be available, together with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbodiesel, the latter coming to the customers from Europe. AMG 53 and 4.0-liter V8-powered 63 and 63 S variants will hit the road later on. A GLE Coupe model is also in the cards and it has already been spotted testing on the Nurburgring.
The new GLE turns out to be stunning! One great accomplishment is the new 4-wheel drive system and the safety features. I couldn’t imagine how smart can this particular SUV can become. Essentially, to gain a full package, it seems that the sport package is required for the GLE.
I look forward to learning more information about the GLE. Great job @Elena Luchian.
