DTM legend Bernd Schneider got behind the wheel of the most powerful E-Class of all times, the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S, and took it to the racetrack and along winding roads. Even though he is very much used to speed and racing, the high-performance car simply makes his heart race.
Powered by a 4.0-liter V8, with 612 horsepower on tap and variable all-wheel drive sending power where needed, the E 63 S is a beast wearing the mask of an elegant sedan. “What a power it has!”, the former DTM champion exclaims as he drives. Choosing between Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus with the Race function, Schneider adjusts the personality of the sports limousine according to his mood.
“The racing driver’s heart jumps for joy”, he says as he throws the car, head first, into the first corner of the racetrack. When he brakes from 260 km/h, he is surprised to see the car doesn’t slip sideways a single inch. “This would be a rude awakening for manufacturers of many sports cars on a day like this”, says Schneider, as the car devours the tarmac.
