Over one million cars Mercedes-Benz sold in the first seven months of 2015

Mercedes-Benz sold already more than 1 million cars in the first seven months of 2015, which is the best result in the Mercedes history.

Mercedes-Benz sold 1,048,178 cars in the first seven months of 2015, with 14.7% more than in the same period of 2014.

It is the best result in the Mercedes-Benz history and a quarter of all these cars are C-Class saloon and estate.

In July alone Mercedes-Benz sold 149,753 cars, with 15.2% more than in July 2014. Smart brand is also on the good course with 9,287 units sold in July, with 15.7% more than in July 2014.

By region, Mercedes sold 457,468 units in Europe in the first seven months which represent a sales record, with 11.3% more than in the same period from 2014.

All regions have registered a significant plus in the first seven months of 2015 from 7.7% in USA (192,496 units) to 24.2% in China (194,861 units). China is number one market in the first seven months of 2015 ahead of USA and Germany (156,569 units).

The China sales registered a nice record also in July 2015, with 29,540 units, which represent a 41.5% plus related to July 2014. Thus, China was number one market worldwide in July ahead of USA (27,526 units) and Germany (24,178 units).

By models, July was another strong month for the compact range, with sales of 49,973 units of the A,B, CLA, CLA Shooting Brake and GLA (+33.0%). The CLA set a new sales record in July 2015 and the first seven months of the year.

Sales of the C-Class saloon and estate increased last month by 83.1% to the record figure of 36,287 units.

E-Class saloon posted a new sales record in the first seven months in China, which is the biggest market of the model.

S-Class maintains its position as the world’s best selling luxury saloon with 58,478 units delivered in the first seven months of 2015 (+1.2%).

SUV sales increased in July by 14.8% to a total of 39,197 vehicles. The GLA and the G-Class set new record sales in the first seven months.

With 71,451 units sold, smart brand registered a plus of 31.5% while the car was not yet available in China – the third biggest market for smart and USA.

The new smart is available in China since August while in USA the new generation will be launched in September.
