The 2020 Mercedes-Benz S-Class was filmed on the Nurburgring. The biggest Mercedes will be presented in 2020, and the Germans are proposing aesthetic changes, improved engines and level 3 autonomous driving technologies.

Externally, the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class, developed on the new rear-wheel drive platform MRA II, will feature a more elegant design, with Smaller, more aggressive and distinctive headlights and tail-lights with full LED and laser technology mimicking those of the latest gen CLS, coupled with a larger grille, are set to make the new S-Class stand out significantly in the luxury segment.

The decision to use less creases and lines seems to be a throw back to the simple designs of legendary designer Bruno Sacco who ruled the Mercedes design department in the 1980s, all with a nostalgia vibe reminding us of the majestic looking W126 of the ’80s.

At the top of the range Mercedes still considers the six-liter V12 twin-turbo engine with a good 630 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque coupled to a rear-wheel drive. We again expect the S 560 version powered by the four-liter V8 Biturbo with 500 hp, which is combined with all-wheel drive. To reduce the consumption, every drive is electrified – as a mild hybrid or plug-in hybrid. A 48-volt electrical system will also be standard.
