Vario Alkoven 1200 is the name of the latest, biggest Mercedes-Benz RV. In fact, you’re looking at a mobile home so big it can even fit your SLK roadster in its back. You know, just in case you’d need it later on for a city stroll.
A small recap of the exterior dimensions should put things into better perspective. The RV measures 12 meters in length and is no less than 4 meters high, easily conquering the king of motorhomes title in the process.
Vario Alkoven is equally impressive in therms of luxury amenities featuring a (get this!) hydraulically extendable living room and bedroom as well as a completely functional kitchen. The tiled floor is of course heated while the bathroom houses a stone basin. The furniture is made of cherry veneer.
The platform donor is none other than Mercedes’ potent Antos truck, happy to put its sturdy chassis at the disposal of big families willing to spend just as big on their brand new RV. We can’t help thinking the ideal clients’ shoes would actually be filled by Formula 1 moguls or millionaire rock stars touring America from coast to coast.
Technology-wise, the Vario Alkoven 1200 boasts the latest gadgetry available in the industry. Nothing is spared, from 32-inch flat TVs to a washing machine and even a steam cooker. Security is insured by the state-of-the-art surveillance system complete with video camera for the access door and a generator with solar rechargeable 1.200 Ah batteries.
Long journeys are like a walk in the park for the monster Mercedes-Benz RV, capable of carrying no less than 500 liters of fresh water and 390 liters of diesel fuel. Oh, and don’t forget about the Mercedes-Benz SLK housed in on its back, always ready to leave its garage anytime you’d ask it to.
