The current Mercedes GLC (X253 and C253 respectively for GLC Coupe) was introduced in 2015 and a facelift was presented last year at the Geneva Motor Show.

Mercedes GLC X253 is the best-selling premium middle-class SUV. 182,750 units were sold in Europe and the United States in 2019.

The second generation Mercedes GLC code name X254 is expected on the market in 2022. The German magazine auto motor und sport presents for the first time the spy photos of the new generation.

There is an even flatter roof line, which means that the new GLC will be even more dynamic. The front takes over the idea of the predator face from the compact range with the thinner, flatter headlights pointing down towards the radiator grille.

The new  GLC will be based on the platform of the future Mercedes C-Class (W206) which will debut in 2021.
As can be seen in the first spy photo, the new GLC will be even longer and the hood will also be longer. That’s why we expect the new 6-cylinder in-line engines to be found under the hood, in addition to the 4-cylinder engines recently launched at the Mercedes E-Class facelift.
