It is obviously not easy to adapt a real engine of Formula 1 to a car of road. Hence, the fear that the much anticipated Mercedes-AMG One supercar won’t be available until 2021, two years later than initial plans.
The future AMG One will be the only supercar in the world to have a Formula 1 engine. This pure supercar will indeed use the 1.6-liter turbo V6 turbo racing cars of the German brand, the same ones that dominate the championship outrageously since 2014.
Mercedes had announced a presentation at the end of 2019 for the Mercedes-AMG One supercar that everyone expects. But according to the German journalists of Auto Motor Und Sport, we will have to wait much longer – imagine how bad this news is for the concerned customers.
2021?
The first deliveries to customers would only happen in 2021. Mercedes would still be plagued by problems to adapt the engine of Formula 1 to road use. So, the One will probably arrive after the Aston Martin Valkyrie …
